Our Furmeets and Events

There are two main events we currently regularly host, monthly potlucks and furbowls every three months. We aim for consistency and financial accessibility.

We hope to be your furry third place or stepping stone to more activities outside of our events. FOMO doesn’t feel great, and while it will always happen you can at least count on Desert Valley being there next time when your life allows.

Be sure to read our code of conduct and policies regarding our furmeets.

Monthly Potlucks

Every month we host a potluck that is free to attend. Organizers aim for the second Saturday of the month unless otherwise stated. Just bring yourself, a chair and anything uou decide to bring to share!

Just about all of our potlucks will be at public parks in Albuquerque with an occasional trek to the mountains for a cookout.

Halfway through our meets we have a group photo, welcoming all attendees!

The goal of our potlucks is to provide a consistent space for furries to mingle or simply exist amongst other furs, do not feel pressured to attend our meets, keeping a streak or feeling obligated to attend. We will be here the next time life allows.

Don’t fret being shy, it’s okay to just exist. It can take time warming up to new people, or just to being a furry in general. You can always ask an admin or one of the owners for help being introduced, but remember we can’t help if we don’t know you need it, so please ask!

Some things to keep in mind

Weather: We happen once a month so we experience all of the years weather, be mindful of the forecast.

Fursuiters: If you need a place to change, just ask for our pop up changing tent.

The public: Remember these potlucks happen at public parks. Interaction with non-furries is a possibility.

Seasonal Furbowls

We aim to host a furbowl every three months on the third weekend, however scheduling is dependent on the venue availability. Using Ticket Tailor we are able to provide scannable tickets for ease on the organizing side as well as giving attendees the confidence of a payment portal and self service with tickets.

Organizers will continue to keep tickets as cheap as possible. Revenue from tickets goes towards the cost of renting the lanes, any pitchers of drinks that are provided, as well as ticketing and processing fees.
